Because this blog has recently attracted a new learning-leaning public, I thought it might be time to retread an older post I tossed up about 6 months ago about educational philosophies.
Here's mine:
Schools are not benign. Kids learn to be what they're labeled relative to other students. Then they bear that out.
What's yours? The only rule is this: You only get up to 20 words.

Visualize this thing that you want, see it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blue print, and build.
It's a quote that I found, but it is a pretty good mantra with multiple layers of meaning.
Here's mine:
Learner's growth is not found in a graph; rather, it is found in plant roots' inclinations; teach to that.
This is a Zappa quote that was never intended for education, but i think it works:
"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible"
Learning is as natural as breathing. Treat it that way.
