I mean really. Shouldn't you just let learners gravitate towards their interest? Things might have been different for me had they had a class in high-school called "Build Your Own 'Squeeeeeeeeely' guitar noise pedal" instead of "Introduction to Electrical Engineering". Sounds boring, eh?Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00867702326386555720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4343773643758367735.post-14192856701174795152009-10-08T16:32:01.679-04:002009-10-08T16:32:01.679-04:00Interesting, Jenna- I'm just starting to think...Interesting, Jenna- I'm just starting to think about science ed for the first time because I'm in a curriculum and culture wars course. This week we talked about teaching evolution in schools, and holy molie, talk about controversial. Sex ed has nothing on science ed. Which begs the question, what's the big deal all about? Shouldn't science class be all about making kids scientists, rather than teaching them Science (with a capital S)?Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12620800340366649931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4343773643758367735.post-40273218053999192272009-10-08T08:50:02.942-04:002009-10-08T08:50:02.942-04:00I know, right?I know, right?Jenna McWilliamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07767988531102621970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4343773643758367735.post-88174285891050185012009-10-08T08:44:43.509-04:002009-10-08T08:44:43.509-04:00While I have relatively little to say in response ...While I have relatively little to say in response to your post about science education, not knowing much about that field, you have picked out one of my favorite snippets of TV in the entire world to illustrate it.Flourishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00646360351256471192noreply@blogger.com
